Next stop, Horror-Rama!

I had a fantastic time at Fan Expo this year.

Next stop, Horror-Rama on October 15 and 16 at the Hyatt Regency, 370 King Street, in downtown Toronto. Tickets are now on sale.

There is something for everyone.

There are vendors of all kinds from special effects to collectables.

Mind Reading
I will be there as a tarot reader so please come and get a reading as it's my last public appearance as a fortune-teller until the Something Strange Circus Sideshow in January.

Speaking of the Something Strange Circus Sideshow, The Sentimentalists will be performing throughout the convention as well.

You can get mind-read by three different people this weekend!

There is also a fabulous horror movies and panels track.

Make Horror-Rama part of your Halloween fun this October!

Captured Souls - Samhain Publishing

Here's what award-winning author and journalist Gemma Files has to say about Captured Souls:

"A queasily beguiling blend of erotica and body horror, Sephera Giron's Captured Souls pits a sexy female mad scientist with a literal fetish for fleshy modification against the self-set challenge of not just finding the perfect lover, but making one. Think Frankenstein in a bustier, with a cool, sleek, Cronenbergian edge. The result is an imaginative Grand Guignol freak-out with porno flair, pumped full of dry black humor and nasty surprises, explicit in every way possible--overall, quite disgustingly entertaining."

Looking for Lizzie Borden

Lizzie Borden's Room Copyright S. Giron 2013

On Sunday July 21, 2013, Lisa Mannetti, scholar extraordinaire on Lizzie Borden and gifted psychic, and moi will be on a radio show live from Abby's room in the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast, Fall River, Massachusetts.

I'll post the details here when I get them.

Lisa and I have been to the Borden home many times over the years. She's likely gone over a dozen times while I'll be on my fifth, I think.

When we attend together, as is always the case, something strange always happens. It's always something different. Sometimes subtle, sometimes in-your-face.

It will be interesting to see which spirits might come through for us that night. We will be sharing the home with a dozen other horror writers. It is a ritual that first we all attend a horror writers conference at Rogers Williams Conference center for four days. We will be low on energy by the time we get to the Borden house. However, it's fascinating how many of us find a second wind as the night wears on.

The staccato ticking of the living room clock.

Shadows under the doors.

Mists in the kitchen door way.

Cats...ghost cats brushing bare legs with invisible tails.

Noises.

Doors opening and shutting.

Doors locking and unlocking.

Candles dancing.

Tarot cards matching.

I'm looking forward to what will happen this time.

Weird Tales of Terror Review in Hellnotes

Weird Tales of Terror on Amazon

I was delighted to read this wonderful review about my collection WEIRD TALES OF TERROR in Hellnotes . Here's a tiny taste of the beginning. You can click on the link to read the rest.

WEIRD TALES OF TERROR: VOLUME ONE

Sephera Giron

Trade Paperback Edition: CreateSpace; 392 pages; $12.99

eBook: Kindle Edition: Scarlett Publishing; $2.99

Reviewer: William J. Grabowski

Award-winning author Sephera Giron has released a collection of never-before-published fiction: six short stories, including a novel, The Witch’s Field. A hefty work indeed of early excursions into spaces where trauma, insanity, isolation, and sex collide with horror and the occult.

For early work this is well-crafted, potent material. During the read, I kept telling myself: “This stuff is like Joyce Carol Oates as directed by David Cronenberg.” In case you missed it, that’s meant as a compliment.

Read the rest of the review here.

WEIRD TALES OF TERROR is available both in trade paperback and as an ebook.

I would love to hear your thoughts about it.
